To ensure you have an enjoyable experience and timeless photos that you will cherish for years to come, here are some good-to-know points to help you prepare for your photo session.

THE BASIC 3 L’s

Lighting – This is the most important  factor that can make or break your session. Good photos need good lighting. The best time for photography is 1-2 hours after sunrise or 1-2 hours before sunset, when the light is soft and diffused. I highly recommend choosing an outdoor setting during the “golden hour”. Arranging for good lighting requires advanced planning to choose the best time and location for your shoot. I’m happy to discuss and help you nail this during the pre-session consultation. For weddings, I will work with you to clarify a timeline that maximizes good lighting on your special day. Once you got this, you’ve done 90% of the prep work.

Location – I recommend choosing a location that has special meaning to you, like where you and your partner had your first date, where you had your best date, where you shared special moments together. For families, that special location may be your home,  your children’s favorite local park, or a beautiful scenery that your family absolutely loves. For brides and grooms, this location is at or near your wedding venue. If you’re open, I’m more than happy to recommend good locations in town.

Look – This is the fun stuff that the ladies enjoy – clothes, hair, make-up, shoes, accessories – the style that you want to exude in your photos. The key is to tie all these elements together to tell a story. For an engagement session, your story is about love, how you met your partner, what things you connected over your relationship, what you enjoy doing together, all while looking sharp in your favorite style. Brides, I know you got this, and I will make sure to capture all the gorgeous details of your wedding day. For families, your story may be about an activity or ritual that your family cherishes, so the look of your session will match that.

After you finalize your booking, I will send a Style Guide that walk you through the steps to ensure your party looks fabulous, timeless, and coordinated with the setting of your choice!

OTHER USEFUL TIDBITS

A reservation deposit of 50% is due at booking, paid via Paypal, mailed check, or bank account money transfer. The remaining 50% is due at the end of your photo session via Paypal, cash, or check. Checks can be made out to Angelina Nguyen.

Travel farther than 35 miles radius of 55369 may incur a travel fee.

Rescheduling due to weather is up to the photographer.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If your booking is cancelled at least 15 days before the scheduled session, your reservation deposit will be fully refunded.

If cancelled less than 15 days before your scheduled session, your reservation deposit will not be refunded. This is because it’s unlikely that I can book a different client in the time slot reserved for you.
